Dr. Brent King is a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is a sub-specialist in pediatric emergency medicine. He is the former Clive, Nancy, and Pierce Runnells Professor and Chair at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School). Dr. King has an interest in pediatric airway management. Along with Dr. Carin Hagberg, he authored the chapter entitled “Management of the Difficult Airway” in the second edition of the Textbook of Pediatric Emergency Procedures. He also served as an associate editor for both editions of that text. Additionally, Dr. King is the author of two pediatric airway topics for UpToDate
