Associate Professor, University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Corwell is an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine. He has an appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics and sees patients with non-operative orthopedic injuries and concussion. He served as one of the team physicians for the University of Maryland Terrapins varsity athletes for 13 years. Since 2013, he has been sideline concussion consultant for the National Football League (NFL). He has served as a NFL Unaffiliated Neurotrauma Consultant (UNC) for the Baltimore Ravens since 2013 and has been the site director for the NFL Emergency Response Physician (ERP) program (formerly the Visiting Team Medical Liaison [VTML] Program) for the Baltimore Ravens since 2015.
