Medical Director of Robert Wood Johnson's University Hospital MICU

Dr. Boutsikaris is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine, within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the MICU at Robert Wood Johnson's University Hospital. Dr. Boutsikaris completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine followed by a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, all at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

After completion of training, he practiced both Emergency Medicine as well as Critical Care at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, before transition to Saint Peter's University Hospital doing the same. Also, while at Saint Peter's Hospital he was the Medical Director of the Geriatric ER Initiative and Director of Emergency Room Critical Care in addition to serving on several hospital committees before transitioning back to Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. Dr. Boutsikaris is passionate about advancing the treatment of those challenged with critical Illness and has published several book chapters on intensive care topics.
