Dr. Downing is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine and the Program in Trauma and Critical Care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. After completing residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland, she completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. She works clinically in the Critical Care Resuscitation Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center and in the intensive care unit at the University of Maryland’s Capital Region Medical Center, an academically affiliated community hospital. Dr. Downing has interests in critical care systems organization and care delivery, hemodynamic monitoring, and resuscitation.
