Stephen Schenkel has been a faculty member at University of Maryland Emergency Medicine since 2003 and was Medical Director for the Mercy Medical Center Emergency Department from 2007 to 2024. He has chaired a state-wide patient safety collaborative and was previously President of Maryland ACEP. He co-directs programs in administrative education and lecture tracks in behavioral health and morbidity & mortality. He is an Associate Editor for JAMA and Annals of Emergency Medicine.
